چکیده
Objective: Investigate the correlation between radiation dose and radiation risk when patients are scanned by 64-slice spiral CT. Materials and Methods: Using SPSS 17.0 statistically analyze the patient’s scanning parameters, radiation dose of monitoring and examining the patients who are scanning of their abdomen, chest and pelvic in our affiliated hospital. Results: SPSS statistical analysis shows the factor related to radiation dose is scanning layer; the basic characteristics such as height and heart rate don’t directly affect the patient’s scan dose. Conclusion: Increasing the delay time after injection can reduce the scan numbers and monitoring layers of the machine, thus reduce the patient’s radiation dose and tube’s exposure time.

Optimization of Parameters in 16-slice CT-scan Protocols for Reduction of the Absorbed Dose
Introduction In computed tomography (CT) technology, an optimal radiation dose can be achieved via changing radiation parameters such as mA, pitch factor, rotation time and tube voltage (kVp) for diagnostic images. Materials and Methods In this study, the brain, abdomen, and thorax scaning was performed using Toshiba 16-slice scannerand standard AAPM and CTDI phantoms. AAPM phantom was used for...

Background: Worldwide the computed tomography (CT) scanning is recognized as a high radiation dose modality. This article aimed to estimate the radiation dose reduction and radiogenic risks for adult patients undertaking abdominal CT examinations. Materials and Methods: A total of 128 patients were studied using 2, 4, 16 and 64 slice CT scanners. The patients were divided into two categories: t...
متن کاملEstimation of Mean Patient Dose Indices in Chest and Abdomen/Pelvis CT Examinations in Rafsanjan Ali Ibn Abitalib Hospital in 2018: A Descriptive Study
Background and Objectives: The radiation protection of patients in CT examinations is important due to its wide application and high contribution in collective dose of public, and its radiation effects. The purpose of this study was to estimate the mean patient dose indices in chest and abdomen/pelvic examinations as the first step in patient radiation protection process. Materials and Methods...

ABSTRACT Background: While the benefits of Computed Tomography (CT) are well known in accurate diagnosis, those benefits are not risk free. CT is a device with higher patient dose in comparison with other conventional radiological procedures. Is the reduction of exposures by requiring optimization of CT procedures [a principle concern in radiological protection]? In this study, the radiatio...
